In college, a field trip is a field teaching model far away from the classroom. Its purpose is usually to observe learning or non-experimental research, or to provide students with practical experience apart from daily learning. The Food Science and Technology programme of UIC focus on not only students' learning ability but also their practical ability. The programme incorporates-field trips with lectures to enhance students’ learning experience in related fields.
Through field study and practice, students can flexibly exercise their professional knowledge to understand the operations in food industry, deepen their understanding of quality management, link theory with practice, and cultivate students’ analytical thinking ability. In addition, the field study also provides direction for students' internships and future career development.
