Food Science and Technology Programme always pay close attention to students’ ability of experimental operation. Students are encouraged and supported to actively participate in experimental research. The Programme established the Zhuhai Key Laboratory of Agricultural Products Quality and Food Safety, which has a wealth of instruments and equipment to provide abundant laboratory resources for students' scientific research. Students can participate in scientific research topics according to their professional fields of interest, conduct literature review, design experiments, and conduct experimental research under the guidance of their supervisors. In addition, year 4 student are required to complete a final year project independently. In the process of completing their projects, students will gain more in-depth knowledge, sharpen research skills, and improve thesis writing ability. The experience of completing the personal thesis has laid students a solid foundation for future research. Up to now, undergraduates have published more than 80 papers in international journals, which lead to the programme become the most powerful major in research and development in UIC.
