Prof. Kevin Jones awarded 2020 International Cooperation Prize of Guangdong Province

Prof. Kevin Jones, Distinguished Adjunct Professor of UIC Environmental Science Programme, has been recently awarded the 2020 International Cooperation Prize of Guangdong Province in May 2021. Prof. Jones was jointly nominated by UIC and GIGCAS (Guangzhou Institute of Geochemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences) for this prize in August 2020.

Prof. Kevin Jones is a Distinguished Professor at Lancaster University. He has pioneered world-leading research into the environmental sources, fate, behavior and effects of persistent organic pollutants over the last three decades. In addition, Prof. Kevin Jones is one of the most cited researchers in Environment/Ecology. He also works as an advisor of numerous boards including the United Nations Environment Programme.

Prof. Jones regularly visited UIC and delivered lectures to students. He established one of the largest and the most influential research center in the world- Lancaster Environment Centre at Lancaster University and encouraged further cooperation between UIC and Lancaster University. Currently, UIC and Lancaster University have collaborated for summer programme operations.
