Prof. Terry Huajun Ye obtained his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Probability and Mathematical Statistics from Peking University, followed by a PhD in Statistics from the University of Manchester in 2005. His research focuses on statistical modeling, statistical inference, financial risk management, and statistical representative points. He published over ten research papers in international journals, including Biometrika, a leading journal in the field of statistics (as the first author).
Prof. Ye joined BNBU for more than 14 years, during which he has held the roles of Programme Director of Statistics and Head of the Department of Statistics and Data Science. In recognition of his contributions, he was awarded the President's Award for Service at BNBU in 2023. Currently, Prof. Ye serves as the Acting Dean and Associate Dean for Teaching and Learning of the Faculty of Science and Technology at BNBU. He also holds the position of Chairman of the BNBU Union and serves as the Coordinator for the Postdoctoral Programme in Statistics. Furthermore, Prof. Ye is the Vice Chairman of the Statistical Education and Management Committee of the China Association for Applied Statistics, an executive member of the Guangdong Operations Research Society, and a member of both the Guangdong Teaching and Learning Supervision Committee in Statistics and the Chinese Mathematical Society, as well as the Chinese Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics.
