Prof. Baojun Xu Appointed as Associate Editors of International Journals


Dr. Baojun (Bruce) Xu, professor and programme director of Food Science and Technology Programme at BNU-HKBU United International College (UIC), has recently been appointed by the Elsevier to be an Associate Editor for the "functional foods" section of Food Research International (FRI), starting from May of 2020 to December of 2022. https://www.journals.elsevier.com/food-research-international/editorial-board.

FRI is one of top international food science journals (SCI, impact factor 3.579), it provides a forum for the rapid dissemination of significant novel and high impact research in food science, technology, engineering, and nutrition. The journal only publishes novel, high quality and high impact review papers, original research papers and letters to the editors, in the various disciplines encompassing the science and technology of food.

Previously, Bruce also has been named as an Editor-in-Chief of Nutrition, Dietetics & Nutraceuticals (https://researchopenworld.com/category/nutrition-dietetics-nutraceuticals/) since 2019, an Associate Editor-in-Chief of Food Science and Human Wellness (http://www.keaipublishing.com/en/journals/food-science-and-human-wellness/editorial-board/) since 2012, an Associate Editor of a newly launched journal Food Frontiers-Wiley (https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/page/journal/26438429/homepage/editorial-board) in 2019, co-editor, guest editor and editorial board members of a few SCI journals.

"I am very excited about taking on this role and working with the Food Research International's excellent editors and authors, this is an honor, but more importantly it is a service role for the discipline" said Bruce. "My primary goal is to publish articles that are based on rigorous research and have direct applicability to the food industry; my secondary goal is to raise the global reputation of UIC in the field of food science and technology."

As an active journal editor and journal reviewer, Bruce has reviewed around 500 English manuscripts for over 20 international journals. The journal editing and peer-reviewing service empowered him rich experience in selecting undergraduate and postgraduate research topics, writing scientific papers, teaching students. He always requires his undergraduate students to choose the latest English paper publications for their oral presentation in the year of the current teaching semester.
