Since graduating from high school, Yitao chose UIC for undergraduate study to prepare for his postgraduate plan of studying abroad. He worked hard and won First Class Award scholarships for three straight years and had deserved his position as a first-honour graduate.

As Yitao prepared all supporting materials for application on his own, his solid knowledge basis in computer science and independent learning skills helped a lot. In addition, Yitao published an academic thesis about automatisation, information and computing in ISAIC 2020. He designed two Intelligent Trading Agents to realise the portfolio transaction. The publication during his undergraduate stage became an advantage for his successful application for ICL.
