Abstract of the talk:
In this talk, Prof. Pan will introduce some new statistical methods I developed recently. He will start with a brief introduction of his career from a pure mathematician to a statistician with particular interests in application to medical sciences. He will then introduce his current research interests and research outcomes related to statistical modelling for certain medical problems. He will use several real examples from medical practices in the UK to show where his research motivation comes from and how his proposed statistical models and methods work in practice.
