ENVS Course Activity Project Won Awards

On October 31st, at the 2025 Summary Seminar of the Zhuhai Ecological Civilization University Action Alliance (hereinafter referred to as "the Alliance"), held at Beijing Normal-Hong Kong Baptist University (referred to as "BNBU"), Ms. HE Shimei from the Environmental Science Programme of BNBU (hereinafter referred to as "ENVS") delivered a speech as the project representative, sharing and summarizing the process and significance of ENVS's participation in the Alliance's activities. Finally, the two group activities "The Cry in the Deep Blue of the Earth & The Battle of Wind, Fire, Hydropower and Electricity" won the Outstanding Project Award of the Alliance, and Dr. Siu-tai TSIM, the course instructor from ENVS, and Ms. HE Shimei, the project leader, were honored as outstanding instructors.

ENVS's first participation in the alliance's activities was a success. Apart from the dedicated guidance from the teachers, the success was also inseparable from the strong support of the Zhuhai Municipal Eco-Environmental Bureau and the relevant units of Qianshan Community. The success of the event was the result of the joint efforts of the university, the government department and the community. Through resource sharing, a win-win situation was achieved for all parties. ENVS utilized its professional advantages to carry out environmental protection education, which also demonstrated its social service function.

In fact, these two groups’ project are part of the newly launched Capstone course (Level 3 of General Education Courses) "Ecological Civilization in Greater Bay Community" by ENVS. As early as the end of 2024, Dr. Siu-tai TSIM, the course instructor, began preparing for start of this course. One of the tasks was together with Ms. HE Shimei to negotiate cooperation matters with the Zhuhai Municipal Eco-Environmental Bureau. The two parties immediately reached an agreement, thus initiating the cooperation of the alliance activities. Under the meticulous arrangement and careful teaching of Dr. Siu-tai TSIM, this capstone course successfully went to the end in May this year. This award was an added bonus, laying a solid foundation for the new start of the course in the coming year.
