Dr. WEN Yi, drawing on his own study and work experiences, presented the sustainability of transportation in an accessible and engaging way, broadening the students' horizons.

Alumnus WEN Yi has been developing in the field of environmental science and enthusiastically supporting the work of the alma mater and ENVS. During his studies abroad, he also actively participated in related activities held by ENVS. After obtaining a first-class honor bachelor's degree from BNBU in 2015, he went to the University of California, Santa Barbara in the United States to pursue a master's degree, majoring in environmental science and management. One year after obtaining the master's degree, he worked for two green transportation-related institutions in the San Francisco Bay Area and developed the idea of pursuing a doctoral degree. Subsequently, he studied for a doctoral degree at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in the United States, focusing on the impact of new transportation methods on transportation systems, the environment, and public health. In 2024, WEN Yi obtained his doctoral degree. This May, he began conducting postdoctoral research at South China University of Technology, with the research topic being the carbon emission impact of shipping worldwide.

Looking back over the past decade, WEN Yi expressed his gratitude for the internationalized English teaching model and the holistic education philosophy of BNBU. These helped him develop independent thinking and critical thinking skills, and enabled him to quickly adapt to the learning mode in foreign countries. On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of BNBU, he wished the alma mater continued to thrive and hoped that the younger students would be brave enough to carve out their own paths.
