The 15th International Conference on Future Environment and Energy (ICFEE 2025) was held from March 7 to 9, 2025 in Sapporo, Japan. As one of the major international academic conferences in the field of environment and energy, ICFEE provides an academic platform for researchers in the field to showcase their innovations and exchange fundamental research advances.
Wang Xiuzhi Delivers Presentation and Wins Award at Conference
Wang Xiuzhi, a PhD student majoring in Environmental Science at the Beijing Normal-Hong Kong Baptist University (BNBU), attended the conference and delivered a presentation titled "Influence of urban development and landscape factors on habitat utilization of the Black-faced Spoonbill (Platalea minor): A study in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, China" in the sub-forum on "Environmental Pollution Monitoring and Ecological Restoration." He shared the recent conservation research conducted by his research team on the critically endangered Black-faced Spoonbill in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and was awarded the Best Presentation Award in the sub-forum.
Mr. Wang said that from participating in domestic conferences such as the China Ornithological Congress and the China Wetland Forum to presenting at this international conference, his scientific research level and academic communication ability have been continuously improved. This growth is due to the systematic academic training by his mentor, Dr. SiuTai TSIM, associate professor of Environmental Science at BNBU, and the collaboration and support of his research team. The team's undergraduate students participated in the preliminary data collection, classification of surface features and other basic work through the research internship program and thesis (FYP), which provided important support for his research and fully demonstrated the important value of teamwork for scientific research.
