On April 28, 2021, Dr. Tsim SiuTai (Director of the Environmental Science Programme), Dr. Li Xun, and Ms. He Shimei as representatives of the Environmental Science Programme of UIC, went to the Shenzhen Institute, China Design Group Co., Ltd to participate in the signing and listing ceremony of a joint learning-research base.

Dr. Tsim SiuTai and Ms. Zhang Li, Deputy Chief Engineer and Director of Shenzhen Institute, China Design Group Co., Ltd, signed the cooperation agreement and exchanged plaques symbolizing the collaboration. 

After that, the two parties briefed each other on their current operations and recent research projects undertaken. They exchanged views on curriculum development, student internships, etc., and looked forward to the joint venture.

UIC is one of the pioneering higher learning institutions participating in Sino-foreign cooperation, and China Design Group is an integrated engineering consulting company with 60 years of experience. It is the first engineering consulting company in China that has obtained Grade A rating for engineering design and is listed on the main board of stock exchange. The alliance between the Environmental Science Programme and the China Design Group in establishing the learning-research base will mutually benefit both parties.
