Dr. Siutai TSIM and Guo Jungong signed the cooperation agreement

After the signing and listing ceremony, Dr. Siutai TSIM led the guests for a short visit to the ENVS laboratories. He briefly introduced the development of the Environmental Science programme and some ongoing research projects.

As a non-governmental organization, Zhuhai Bird Watching Society has been actively organizing and promoting the popularization, conservation and scientific investigations of birds and biodiversity since its establishment, and has been rated as a five-star non-governmental organization by the Zhuhai Civil Affairs Bureau. The "Birds of Qi'ao island" published by the society won the Liang Xi Science Popularization Award. The society has also been entrusted by relevant government departments in Zhuhai and Guangdong Province to carry out ecological surveys, and coordinate the synchronized surveys of key bird species in Guangdong Province.

The cooperation between Zhuhai Bird Watching Society and the Environmental Science Programme is a win-win opportunity. Zhuhai Bird Watching Society can provide a platform for UIC students or graduates in biodiversity conservation, while UIC can provide the manpower and lab facilities for carrying out scientific experiments. Both the parties anticipated more collaborations in the future, to jointly contribute to the ecological conservation of Zhuhai and the development of national ecological civilization.
