Dr Huggins. his team, and their network of international collaborators have already developed behavioral, cognitive, and integrative models that are ready for further testing. They are also conducting a systematic literature review of over 40 years of research into risk perception biases. Among other issues, this review is focused on the influence of cultural settings.

NEW RESEARCH INTO BIASED RISK PERCEPTION

APSY’s Ms Eva Wang, Mr Wenbo Zhang and Dr Thomas Huggins are systematically reviewing biases affecting how risk is perceived in China and elsewhere around the world. Their research is supported by an internal UIC grant and will set a foundation for further APSY research into this fascinating area.
