After two years of planning, the MSc in Sustainable Energy Technology and Management programme at the Beijing Normal University - Hong Kong Baptist University United International College (UIC) has received approval from the Ministry of Education and Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) as of November 2023. The programme will begin accepting admissions and welcoming its first cohort of students in the autumn of 2024.
This programme is a collaborative effort between HKBU and UIC, proposed by UIC's Environmental Science Programme. It incorporates the established curriculum of the MSc in Green Technology (Energy) programme at HKBU, which has years of successful experience. The collaboration utilizes the strengths of both the HKBU Physics Department and UIC's faculty to deliver joint instruction. Students who successfully complete the programme will be awarded a Master's degree from Hong Kong Baptist University.
The MSc in Green Technology (Energy) programme at HKBU has trained numerous professionals who contribute to sustainable development both regionally and globally. Now, this curriculum is being implemented at the UIC campus in Zhuhai, located within the Greater Bay Area. The new programme places a stronger emphasis on managing new energy resources. Being based in Zhuhai provides students with enhanced opportunities to engage with the new energy industry. Courses and graduation projects will be developed in partnership with local new energy companies in Zhuhai, offering promising prospects for students.
More information regarding enrollment will be released soon. For further updates, please visit the Graduate School website of UIC.
