On September 5, 2025, 72 students of the second batch of MSCBS students at BNBU, along with their programme teachers, attended the grand Inauguration Ceremony of BNBU in the university auditorium. Together with approximately 1,500 graduate students who matriculated in 2025, they enjoyed delicious food, listened to the President's speech, gained a deeper understanding of BNBU, Graduate School, Graduate School’s faculty, and established a good foundation for the smooth progress of their studies and lives in the coming year.

Under the chairmanship of Professor Peng Xiaoling, the director of the MSCBS programme, the students participated in a more in-depth Concentration Gathering at the sub-conference venue subsequently.

The Acting Dean and Associate Dean for Teaching and Learning of Faculty of Science and Technology, Professor Ye Huajun, extended a warm welcome to the students and set forth earnest expectations for them on behalf of the Faculty.

Professor Xu Yida and Dr. Choi Puiwah, both of whom are from the Department of Mathematics at Hong Kong Baptist University, delivered speeches on the stage respectively. Their speeches were not only of high theoretical significance but also highly practical and instructive, benefiting the students greatly.

Professor Peng Xiaoling provided detailed explanations of the core information of MSCBS, including the BNBU Statistics and Data Science Department that serves as the foundation for this Programme, as well as MSCBS's features, faculty, curriculum, programme activities, graduation prospects and etc.

This Inauguration Ceremony for Postgraduate Students in 2025-26AY of BNBU and Professional Meeting of the Programme aims to help students quickly adapt to the learning environment, clarify their development goals, and enhance their sense of belonging to the group. In the near future, the teachers will work together with the students to provide comprehensive and multi-level support and guarantees for their career development.
