On the afternoon of April 6, 2023, Professor Yu Hongnian led students from the Master of Arts in Communication-Artificial Intelligence and Digital Media Concentration (AIDM for short) programme to visit Guangdong Xinguang Intelligent Co., Ltd. for an exchange visit. This exchange was aimed at students of the 'Emerging Technology for Media and Communication' course, vividly demonstrating the practical application of key Industry 4.0 technologies in the industry.

Fully Automatic Intelligent Production Line

During the visit, the company was conducting joint debugging before shipment, and the teachers and students had the opportunity to see a real production line up close and understand the design philosophy of the photovoltaic frame processing intelligent production line. Deputy Director of the Design Department, Liu Tiezhang, warmly received the teachers and students and detailed the various processes of the production line, including the trimming of raw materials, hole processing, milling, and the unmanned distribution and intelligent progress planning of finished and semi-finished products.

The Growth Path of the 'Little Giant' Enterprise

The company's Deputy General Manager, Jiang Lijun, then led the teachers and students to visit the exhibition hall. Through Jiang's introduction, the teachers and students learned about the development history, strategic positioning, and central business sectors of Xinguang Intelligent, gaining more understanding of how a service provider of intelligent manufacturing system solutions serves the industry.

Cloud 'Supervision' Intelligent Manufacturing

The team leader of the software development group, Lai Junru, gave a PPT explanation on the theme of 'Line Control System and Central Control Center Application' to the teachers and students. During the explanation, Lai connected in real-time to a customer's workshop, showing the operation of the unmanned workshop. The vast, busy, yet empty workshop greatly shocked the teachers and students. At the end of the visit, the teachers and students had an in-depth discussion with company representatives on topics such as simulation, mathematical modeling, etc., hoping for deeper cooperation and exchange in the future.
